Removable Strawberry: Care Features
Landing and care
Strawberry care is simple, but has many nuances. If agricultural technology is not observed, even the most resistant varieties can die.
Planting of repair strawberries for the Moscow Region in the spring is carried out by the nesting method, in which the mustache takes root better and is immediately ready for fruiting. When landing in open ground, you should not save space: space will come in handy for new plants. Strawberries should be planted on a site previously cleared of weeds and fed with humus and phosphorus fertilizers. A couple of weeks before sowing, manure can also be added to the soil at the rate of 10 liters per m². Heavy soil is lightened with sand.
Seedlings are planted in a permanent place in mid-May. A distance of about 70 cm is left between the plants. Before planting, a mound is formed on the beds for each seedling: on it, the roots of the strawberries are straightened and then lightly dug. At first, plants do not need fertilizing, but periodic irrigation is required.
Since repairing varieties are more susceptible to diseases than ordinary varieties, they need to be taken care of more carefully: to be watered with high quality and timely water. In water, you can add herbal infusion made from chopped nettle, wormwood and yarrow. In the heat, water the plants either in the evening or in the morning.
In order for the berry to be large, after each watering it is recommended to loosen the soil around the bushes. Care should be taken so as not to damage the roots of strawberries. If you mulch the root zone with peat or sawdust, then loosening in the future is not necessary.
After transplanting, plants require good watering and top dressing. As fertilizers, you can use an infusion of bird droppings or nitrogen at the rate of 1 liter of substance per 15 liters of water. Mullein solution can also be used: 1 liter per 10 liters of water.
Care also includes the timely removal of strawberry mustache; otherwise the plantation will quickly grow and you will not get a good harvest. To increase fruiting, in the spring, all ovaries should be removed from the bushes: the first crop will have to be missed, but the berries of the second will be much larger and tastier.
